About

A Contemporary Impressionist Vision of Nature

The wind in the trees, the murmur of a river, the golden glow of a setting sun; these quiet, powerful moments shape the way I see and paint the world. One of my first experiences of true awe was during a childhood trip to Halong Bay in Vietnam. That feeling of being completely absorbed by a place, of sensing its poetry deep within, has never left me.

Over the years, that same sense of wonder has continued to guide my work, wherever I am.

Finding Inspiration in the Wilderness

Based in the heart of Auvergne, I find endless inspiration in the region’s lush, ever-changing landscapes. I spend time walking the trails, discovering places where light, movement, and atmosphere come together in ways that move me. When a scene speaks to me, I begin by sketching its essence; crafting a composition that captures the energy and poetry I feel in the moment.

From there, I bring the scene to life with oil paint, blending both palette knives and brushes, or sometimes only knives, to create a rich interplay of texture and movement. My contemporary impressionist approach isn’t about rendering nature in precise detail but rather evoking its presence, its emotion. I paint until the canvas resonates with the feeling I experienced, letting intuition guide the final strokes.

Some of my paintings are rooted in real places, but others emerge entirely from imagination. These imagined landscapes allow me to play more freely with composition, color, and emotion, creating visually surprising scenes that evoke a deeper sense of wonder or contemplation. Whether observed or invented, every scene begins with a feeling.

Painting as an Escape and a Connection

For me, painting is more than a creative act, it’s a way to reconnect with the natural world, even within the quiet of my studio. Whether I’m painting a memory, a dreamscape or an outdoor scene, each piece becomes a space of harmony and emotional exchange.

An Invitation to Pause and Feel

Through my paintings, I invite you to pause. To breathe. To experience nature and imagination not only with your eyes, but with your emotions. Let color, texture, and movement stir something within, be it serenity, nostalgia, curiosity, or awe.

Feel free to explore my collection. And if you have a special project or idea in mind, I’d love to talk about bringing it to life.
